Polar Bear
Polar Bears are also known as the sea bear or white bear. They belong to the bear family.
Polar Bears are white and black. They have white fur, black skin and a black nose. The males weigh 755 to 1200 pounds, the females weigh 330 to 650 pounds.
Polar bears are only found in 5 places. They are Greenland, Alaska, Canada, Russia and Norway. They live on the ice. They usually sleep in caves. They keep warm with their fur and black skin. The black skin helps them attract sun.
Polar Bears live about 25 years. They are born usually in 2s. If in 3s the father and mother look after 2 and leave 1 to fend for itself. The cubs stay with their mother until they’re 2 years old. When they are older april or may they start to mate. The female will have lots of males around her fighting. Once 1 is left and all the others ran away that one gets the female. Then they start breeding.
Polar Bears are carnivores. Polar bears manly eat the ringed seal. They catch them when they pop their heads out of the water. Polar Bears are top of the food chain in the arctic.
Polar Bears are now endangered. Hopefully they won’t all die.
