If you are trying to figure out where to go on your holiday, this will hopefully ease your mind. This is why you should go to alaska and not New Zealand. The wildlife is amazing, the theme parks are jaw dropping, the cruises are to die for and the northern lights are beautiful. These are only a little of the reasons why 1.5 million people visit Alaska each year.

You are able to watch the eagles soar through the sky, view bears catch some fish or get on a boat and go whale watching. Whatever it is Alaska’s wildlife has a lot in store. Their state animal is the Moose. They are rare to find anywhere else in the world. Male moose are called Bulls and female moose are called cows. Cows are pregnant for 8 months and a baby moose is called a calf. The calf will stay with their mother until they are 1 year old. Moose have 32 teeth and  none  of them upper front teeth.

The northern lights are a great sight to see. They are also called aurora borealis. Aurora is of the roman goddess of dawn and they changed the greek word boreas meaning north wind into borealis. The northern lights are caused by the suns wind hitting the earth's magnetic field. It normally occurs in September, October, March and April. They usually form ribbons, arcs, flares and spirals. The northern lights can also be seen on other planets such as Jupiter.

In Alaska there are lots of beautiful sights and tours. There are daily cruises going through the rivers of alaska moving through the ever shifting ice. On lots of cruises they give you a wide range of activities such as whale watching, fishing, hiking and much much more. You can grab a tour guide to help you through the mountains, there you can get great views of Alaska’s wildlife.. Some of the tours have had awards.

If you want to get rid of the kids for a day or have a mountain full of fun with them, this is the place for you. You can go to the H20asis, alaska's only indoor waterpark and one of the biggest in the united states of America. It has wave pools, lazy rivers, pirate ships, 505 feet long water slides and much much more. Visit the worlds largest chocolate fountain. It is 20 feet high and makes you want to jump into it. You can find it at Alaska wild berry theatre and park. You can see how candy is made and walk through the berry trail. After the long day you can go to the restaurant across the road. If you hanging of your chair by now, if I tell you everything you would be lying flat on the floor.
